Bijou Marketplace is a mixed-use project consisting of 5 buildings with retail, financial and restaurant spaces. The development is under the Tourist Core Are Plan and is located in the corner of US Highway 50 & Ski Run Blvd, approximately a quarter of a mile from Lake Tahoe. MMA’s roles in this project are project architect and administrator. MMA Architecture provided plan review and construction documentation for the entire project. Regarding site planning and design- MMA utilizes the project so that site buildings and paved areas are over existing disturbance to ensure the least amount of new site disturbance as possible. MMA Architecture also incorporated the existing natural features of the site such as rock outcrops, trees, and topographic features. Building entries were also highlighted with architecture and landscape that compliments the overall project site.
